Looks like any other plane from this angle

It's not until you check out the frog that the differences become apparent. Sargent took the Bedrock idea and rotated it 90 degrees. Like the bedrocks you don't have to take the cap & balde off for aduustments.

one point frog screw..very hard to reach around the levercap screw but I think it's there just for stabilizing the frog.

 

 

the vertical screws aren't much easier to get at, especially when the blade is in place.

 

Not a lot of room with this No. 3 sized plane, the No. 5 jack works a lot better.

 

frog bed is fairly simple and flat

 

the frog adjustment pin rides in a notch cast into the bed
