Recent find of a Bailey Tool
Company Woonsocket Rhode Island Defiance #5 sized plane with the
offset wormgear depth adjustment (see photos) Battleaxe blade
logo..swept back fin profile..works great after all these years...I
found this at a small market that I frequent on Sundays after
hitting all the other big places..a few dealers there save me
old tools. I got this from a nice old galoot who I've known for
close to 15 years...
Tote and knob were beautiful..certainly
better than they should have been..it must have been well taken
care of.
One of the more interesting
ideas for a depth adjustment. The offset knob turns a worm gear
that lowers the blade
always interesting finding
a new tool that uses a different approach for doing the same thing..gotta
love the people who came up with these ideas..where are they now???
